We’re delighted that Ladydowns Christmas Trees will be returning to Polgoon this year.  The trees will be sold from 1st – 24th December between 9am and 5.30pm.

Every year the British Christmas Tree Growers Association holds a competition to find the best Christmas tree grown in the UK.  There are different categories for each species of tree. The winning trees are then displayed in various state rooms in 10 Downing Street, with the overall champion taking pride of place outside the door to Number 10.

The Ladydowns ‘Koreana’ tree won in its category this year. On top of that, Ladydowns was also awarded runner up, Champion Grower 2018.  This means that a tree grown in Gulval will be taking pride of place in the Pillared Room, the Prime Minister’s largest state drawing room, this Christmas.

Ladydowns Christmas Trees are offering everyone who buys a tree the chance to win a hamper of award-winning wines from Polgoon.  When you buy a tree you will automatically be entered into the raffle. The winner will be announced live on the Ladydowns facebook page on 19 December.

Trees will be available from 9am-5.30pm at Polgoon.

As BCTGA members we are required to comply with a code of practice so that British Christmas trees are grown to the best environmental and sustainable practice. Members are required to grow quality Christmas trees that, with the appropriate care, will survive the duration of their festivities.

The BCTGA ask people to look for a British grown tree because it is good for the economy, for agriculture and for the environment. Buying British means money is going directly back into the country’s economy and helping provide employment in the agricultural sector. It’s also good for the environment, providing shelter for birds and wildlife while the trees are growing.
