“I enjoyed the bacchus, which is grown on a vineyard within a pitching-wedge stroke of the Atlantic. Floral and zippy, it has notes of gooseberry and elderflower.” Will Lyons, The Sunday Times Magazine

“Polgoon 2016 Bacchus is light, clean and expressive. This is a stunning, aperitif-style white with fairy-light fruit but a heart of steel. Lovely, salty and citrussy, this is like an English version of a Spanish albariño.” Matthew Jukes, Daily Mail Weekend Magazine

On these days of isolation the Elderflower cider keeps me going – the best cider I’ve had

  4. Belinda Wheeler (verified owner)

I’m a huge fan of English (and Cornish!) white wines and this Bacchus is one of my current favourites. Beautifully dry with just the right balance of flavour – light but not too light. I highly recommend it.

  5. Mark Hisgrove

Also a big fan of English white wines from Cornwall to Norfolk, and even one from Enfield in London. Had this Polgoon Bacchus 2018 for the first time last year when camping in Sennen and just finished another at home which I had delivered to me as a Birthday Hamper gift and I must say it instantly transported me back to Cornwall. Hopefully we might get back to Sennen and also visit the vineyard this year, just depends on how these times turn out over the summer but if it’s not to be there is always home delivery or to wait till next year…. A great refreshing, light wine.
